Did you know

According to the Occupational Employment Statistics (OES) Survey Results, the first quarter for 2018 revealed that the Mean Annual Wage (for all occupations) in LA County was just over $57,000. Based on the established housing affordability standard of 30%, an individual earning this annual wage can only afford a monthly housing expense of $1,425. The average rent for an apartment in Los Angeles is $2,265. The problem is clear and this is where we will start.

The Challenge We Face

Inventory Deficit

The U.S. has a shortage of 7.4 million affordable rental homes available for eligible low-income renters — a gap that grows each year.

Cost Burden

More than 11 million Americans now pay more than half their monthly income on rent, leaving little for food, healthcare, and stability.

Poverty & Children

15 million children — 21% of all children — live in families with incomes below the federal poverty level, many in substandard housing.

"The global affordable-housing gap will affect an estimated 1.6 billion people by 2025 — and the problem is worsening in every region."

— McKinsey Global Institute
